During the renovation of the areas of the Prison which are Baha'i property this special skylight has been upgraded. This is special to Baha'is because Mirza Mihdi, Baha'u'llah's youngest son, fell through it one day during his prayers and meditations while he was pacing across the roof, which was his custom. He fell on a wooden crate, the noise from which alerted the entire Household. His dying request to his Father was that the pilgrims (who had a terrible time, after having walked the entire distance from Persia to Akka, in being allowed by the authorities into His presence) would be able to visit Him in the Prison.
