The Plodger

A "plodger" is an old codger who's still working as a plumber. That'd be me.

We have a backup plumbing system with a pair of pumps and water storage tanks which really has come in handy over the years when the public water system is shut down for repairs or maintenance (often!). So, all afternoon I had to replumb the system so that we can readily turn on one or the other pump (depending on the level of water in the storage tanks outside). Before, I had to run a hose between the two systems and it caused some problems with the pressure.

Now, anybody at home can flip either of two switches to turn on the backup when we are out of water.
Here's the dirty, nasty old Plodger caught in the act. (Never mind about the suds in the glass above...it's Near-Beer, not the other lethal, illegal, stuff...hey, it was hot out there!)
