Westward Ho!

From Whitefish, MT. we headed out to the West Coast and the scenery really started to change radically. We didn't know what was going on outside during the night, of course, but the morning views were pretty exciting. Here are the first of the mountain and river views we saw.

After leaving the train station by bus for Vancouver we got a dose of Seattle's culture
Then by ferry to Victoria:These ferries are really cool. They are huge! There are multiple decks and we must have seen at least thirty large trucks roll of one lower deck.One great decision we were able to make was to visit Carolyn and Herm Kornatz in Victoria, BC (well, in nearby Swartz Bay). Carolyn is Darren Spratt's mom. She was a real sweetie in arranging for us to come to stay at their home and to pick us up at the ferry.

A sign that all was very well was the rainbone that showed up where she picked us up, a beautiful harbor very near their home. Actually it's a double one!
They have a beautiful house nestled in the trees and near the water.
Carolyn is quite a talented lady. She's been working on various art projects in the past and would love to be able to dedicate more time to this in her busy schedule. Below are some sculptures she made.

The next morning we went with Carolyn to visit Anisa Skuce. In passing we noticed the Victoria Baha'i Bookstore which is closed for remodelling. (One of these days maybe we'll connect with an open bookstore! This is the second time we cain't get in...)
So much Native art work in this area!
This was the highlight of the day. We haven't seen Anisa in years!She found a perfect house which is filled with light and brightness--perfect for her own reflection.
